A Bit About Me

Meet Elizabeth Rita

Chances are you’ve been trawling the internet, looking for the perfect wedding hair & make-up artist to make you look beautiful on the big day. There are a LOT of us online, so I’m delighted that you’ve managed to find me.

Choosing the right artist for the job can seem like an impossible task with only a few photos to go on. You’re probably asking yourself…

Will she understand what I’m going for?

Will she cake on too much foundation?

Will she use ENOUGH foundation?

Will she listen to me?

Will I love the final result?

In many ways, it’s the toughest wedding vendor to book because it’s so personal. You want to look like YOU on your wedding day…but the best possible version of yourself, right?

I can help make that happen. Promise.

MY STYLE

I have range. I work with lots of different kinds of brides and am adept at interpreting exactly what you want from your wedding make-up. I can go BIG with luscious eyelashes, high-glam details and a bit of sparkle, or I can pare things right back to dewy, subtle, barely-there loveliness. Like an early morning meadow in April.

MY EXPERIENCE

I’ve actually lost count of how many brides I’ve worked with. It must be in the thousands now and I never get tired of the excitement of a wedding day. There’s something gorgeously intimate about being asked to take part in the sacred preparations before someone’s nuptials and it’s an honour every single time. I bring a positive, can-do attitude to your day and there is no problem so complex that we can’t solve it. Last minute mother-in-laws changing their mind and wanting their make-up done, bad hair days, epic flower girl tantrums…trust me, I’ve seen it all.

Aside from weddings, my other main gigs tend to be with celebrities, print, fashion, music, and TV. Over the past decade, I’ve racked up a lovely deck of industry clients including but not limited to: Rita Ora, Jonas Blue, Sam Smith, Snow Patrol, The Vamps, and even the fabulous Grace Hightower De Niro (wife of Robert De Niro). I’ve also worked on the catwalks and photoshoots of some exciting mega-labels like Christian Dior, Lancôme, Aquascutum, Jigsaw, Calvin Klain and good old M&S. I have a few TV shows to my name as well, including X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and Strictly Come Dancing.

MY COVD-19 POLICY

Weddings aren’t quite what they were pre-2020, are they? It’s all a little different now. Like any MUA worth her salt, I’ve invested in ALL the Covid-19-friendly gear so that you can rest easy knowing that you and your family and friends are totally safe when working with me. In a nutshell:

All of my kit now arrives with me packed into air-tight Tupperware and everything is kept separate to avoid contamination.

Naturally, I sterilised everything between faces before Covid-19, but nowadays my sterilisation routine is a lot more intense. Everything is sterilised between uses (even if it’s on the same person) and I use a little UV microwave in my kit.

Every face I work on will have their own “set” of brushes and products that will be used on them and only them.

I wear a face mask and face shield at all times.

Finally, I’ve completed the prerequisite Health and Safety courses to prove that I can keep my clients and myself safe while working. Got the certificates and everything.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Raised in the glorious Herefordshire countryside (although I grew up in the considerably warmer Middle East), I have a BA honours in Theatre Design and an ITEC Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair & Make-Up from Shepperton Studios. I’ve travelled the world as both a make-up artist and a model and am now primarily based in London where I live with my husband and our toddler (plus a record-breaking stack of Vogue magazines).
